Your files are stored in Cloudflare R2, a reputable and secure cloud object-storage service, while document metadata is kept in MongoDB Atlas. The backend runs on managed cloud infrastructure (Google Cloud). Files are never left sitting on your phone where they could be lost with the device.

How secure is MyHandyDocs?

Security is central to the product. Your number is verified with a one-time SMS code when you sign up, you log in with your phone number and password, and sessions are protected with short-lived access tokens and rotating refresh tokens. Documents are served only through short-lived signed URLs, and the API is rate-limited and hardened with modern security headers. Your documents are only ever accessible to you and the people you explicitly share them with.

How do I sign in — do I need a password?

Yes — you sign in with your phone number and the password you set when you created your account. When you first register we also send a one-time SMS code to confirm your number, so every account is tied to a real, working phone.

Yes. You can create private groups and invite family members using a secure link or QR code. Groups have admin and member roles so you stay in control of who can see and manage documents. It is the simplest way to keep a household's important paperwork in one trusted place.

Absolutely. Sharing is always reversible. You can revoke an invite link or remove a member from a group at any time, and their access is withdrawn immediately.
